Demonstrations
At the Stone Food and Drink Festival, we pride ourselves on providing a programme bursting with cookery demonstrations that are as entertaining as they are educational. Each year our very best local chefs have rubbed shoulders with celebrities including Mary Berry, Gino D'Campo and the Hairy Bikers; all sharing their personal favorite recipes and top tips for culinary success.
Chefs already lined up for the 2011 festival include:
Simon Smith
Now based at Lichfield’s Thrales Restaurant, Simon Smith’s illustrious 40-year career has seen him train in Paris and Switzerland, work in some of London’s best restaurants, appear on numerous TV shows and accumulate many awards along the way; including a coveted Michelin rating for Thrales. We’re looking forward to a fascinating demonstration of high-end cuisine from this well respected chef.
Jack Taylor
Having gone down a storm at last year's festival, where he entertained the crowds alongside his heroes the Hairy Bikers, young local chef Jack Taylor will be making a welcome comeback; this year sponsored by Stone's Lymestone Brewery. At the tender age of 13, Jack shows considerable cooking talent and never fails to raise a laugh with his unique brand of cheeky humour.

Restaurant Gilmore, Strines Farm, Uttoxeter
Over the past decade, Paul has developed Restaurant Gilmore into one of the county’s best-loved eating spots. A true ambassador for Staffordshire food, Paul believes that the county does not currently get the recognition it deserves in terms of its gastronomic attractions and, using the finest produce from the county’s larder, serves British classics with a fresh twist.
