Getting Here

 

Stone is situated midway between Stafford and Stoke on Trent, close to the A34 and alongside the Trent & Mersey Canal and the River Trent.

By Rail

At present, trains do not stop at Stone Railway Station. The nearest stations are at Stafford and Stoke-on Trent.  An hourly Bakerbus X1 service connects both Stafford and Stone stations with Stone town centre and the Firstbus 101 service connects Stafford station and the town on a twenty minute timetable. 

(Although it has been announced that a rail service will be reinstated, this will not be in time for this year's Food and Drink Festival.)

By Bus

Reliable and regular bus services operate between Stoke, Stafford and Stone.

Bakerbus operate an hourly service, the X1, between Hanley via Stoke station and Stafford calling at Stone. Click here for timetable.

Firstbus operate the twenty minute 101 servive between Hanley via Newcastle and Stafford calling at Stone. Click here for the 101 timetable.

By car to Stone

From the north on M6, leave at Junction 15. Continue straight ahead at first roundabout onto the A500 towards Stoke on Trent. In 1 mile take the next slip road to join the A34. At roundabout at bottom of slip road take third exit to continue south on A34. After five miles, follow signs to Stone town centre.

From the south on M6, leave at Junction 14. Take third exit on roundabout towards Stafford and Stone. At second roundabout turn left onto A34 continue for four miles to Stone. Follow signs to Stone town centre

If you're not travelling by motorway,  from the east, Stone is easily accessed from the A50 at Meir (near Stoke on Trent ) along the A520.

From Lichfield and Rugeley, the A51 joins the A34 just south of Stone. Follow signs to town centre.

Festival Car Parking

If you're travelling to the Festival by car, all public car parks are clearly signed as you approach Stone. We strongly recommend you use the designated car parks.

By Canal

The Trent and Mersey Canal runs through the town and there is ample towpath mooring. Further information can be found on the following websites.
